Patricia Hargreaves is now in her second decade here and continues to offer high quality food and beer for your taste buds to savour.

We are situated near to Hoghton tower (in 1617 James I knighted the loin of beef - Sir Loin here). The building dates back to circa 1620, with four cosy, low ceilinged, oak beamed rooms which are served by one central bar. There is no background music, machines, jukebox, TV or pool table, just three real fires, real ales & real food.

Although very much a food pub, we are regularly featured in the CAMRA good beer guide and have won "The Pub Of The Season" award.
